Peak Design Travel Backpack 30L Review

It’s (finally) time to get into the main compartment of the Peak Design Everyday Backpack 30L (V2). There are three ways to access the main compartment—the top flap that opens up in a top-loader style and the two side zips. Wrapping up the rest of the materials on the Everyday Backpack 30L (V2), you’ll find aluminum hardware on places like the sternum strap and shoulder strap adjusters. There’s also some nubuck leather on the handle and other design accents.

Peak Design Everyday Backpack v2 review: A backpack you'll really use every day

Detatchable hip belt, laptop & pad etc in front compartment. I'm finding it the most comfortable backpack I've ever tried. Towards the front of the main compartment are two zippered mesh pockets. We dig that these are see-through mesh because it means everything inside of them is easily visible. These could be great for tech accessories, but they’re located in a tricky spot. Once they’re buried behind packing cubes and other gear, they’re pretty much inaccessible; not ideal if you have your charger back there and you’re sitting at just 5% battery level.

I like zippers because they stay shut when I use them. And to some extent they keep things out of the compartment. Anything less than a zipper is substandard for me, be it magnets, velcro, clasps etc..no zipper- no buy. One of the things I wasn’t as into was the trolley strap on the back. To use it means your backpack must sit on top of your suitcase in a sideways position, which makes things top heavy.

Hardware and Design Features

Pro camera strap with unmatched versatility, stability, and aesthetics. Waterproof, packable rain cover for the Travel Backpack 45L. "We have not made any significant progress since last year," says Sigma owner and CEO Kazuto Yamaki, when asked about the planned full-frame Foveon camera. But he still believes in the project and discussed with us what such a camera could still offer. Who wouldn't want to use the IS mechanism they've paid for to squeeze a bit more resolution our of their camera?

You should also keep the purchase receipt for proof-of-purchase so that you can access the warranty coverage should issues arise with your backpack. It’s easy to invest in the Peak Design Travel Backpack 30L, when you know that it’s backed by a lifetime warranty. The 30L Travel Backpack has a weatherproof, 400D nylon canvas, which keeps your belongings safe from the elements.

PROTECT PEOPLE,PROTECT PLANET.

They’ve been getting a lot of use—switching around camera gear and organizing the pack—but still, we’re shocked. It’s never a good sign to see this much wear and tear after such a short testing period. We’ll make sure to keep you updated in the Usage Timeline below. If you’re using the Everyday Backpack 30L (V2) as a camera bag, this feature is awesome.

There simply isn't anything else on the market that is quite like it. It doesn't matter if you're taking multiple bodies, lenses, and a tripod on a day shoot or you've just got a small mirrorless with zoom tucked away amidst your carry-on supplies. The Everyday Backpack really is a backpack you'll use every day. This is only scratching the surface of some of the features.

We checked in with our Instagram audience and you (mostly) agreed. Peak Design makes some pretty slick-looking bags, and this one is no exception. Versatile and packed full of thoughtful details, the latest iteration of Peak Design’s Everyday Backpack 30L is a strong contender for photographers, videographers, and commuters alike. All gear bought on the Marketplace is guaranteed for life by Peak Design.

They transfer the load properly from the bag to your body and they allow your back to breathe. I've done a lot of hiking with a Decathlon Quechua MH500 backpack and it's superior to any camera backpack I've used or seen when it comes to features and comfort. Other brands make similar bags that are also better choices than a camera bag. Even with its good looks, the Everyday Backpack remains, at its core, an extremely functional bag for carrying cameras (and honestly, just about anything else).

Swinging the Travel Backpack around is easy thanks to these rivets, even when fully packed with clothing and supplies needed for a wedding trip. The padded shoulder straps can each be tucked away for those who prefer single-strap carry. Likewise, there are handles all over this bag for additional carrying options as well. I'd recommend the Think Tank "Backstory 15" (I just got one a few days ago). Very efficient lightweight compact design, bigger capacity inside than it appears at first, excellent build quality, great looks, excellent comfort, airline carry-on compatible etc etc. Easily takes my Z9 plus Z 400mm f/4.5 plus tele-converters, binoculars, charger, power adaptor, Z mm f/4 and more in the main compartment.

We’ll let that little detail slide since it all averages out to 30 liters anyway. Besides, the compression system Peak Design has here is really clean and subtle. If the built-in handles and luggage pass-through isn’t enough, the Travel Backpack also has a number of attachment points for accessory straps.
